FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Author/Teacher Jeannine Parvati Baker Hospitalized for Hep C

Provo, Utah — January 17, 2005

Much-loved author and teacher Jeannine Parvati Baker is presently undergoing
urgent care in the Utah Valley Regional Hospital in Provo, Utah. She is suffering
from complications of Hepatitis C, which she has been battling for over a year.
She has been put on a waiting list for a liver transplant.

European medical authorities have recently identified Hepatitis C as a risk factor
after administration of Rhogam, the drug given to pregnant women for Rh
incompatibility. Ms. Parvati Baker received Rhogam in 1970 and believes she is
one of the thousands of women who became carriers of Hepatitis C from this
source. She has been undergoing nutritional and herbal therapies as well as
receiving conventional medical treatment in battling relapses of Hepatitis C.

Due to illness, Ms. Parvati Baker has cancelled nearly all her teaching
engagements this past year and is no longer able to earn income. Her family and
friends are requesting financial pledges in any amount to assist with household
maintenance and specialized healthcare. Monthly pledges are especially
appreciated. Also needed are in-home care providers who can offer domestic
services (massage, cooking and cleaning), help with Hygieia College email and
web work, and help with Jeannine’s health care. There is comfortable lodging next
door provided at Hygieia House for all caregivers (ideally staying a week or
longer). This is a wonderful opportunity for any colleagues and students who have
been touched by Ms. Parvati Baker's work.

Financial pledges to Jeannine Parvati Baker can be sent to:
